Chapter II — Threads
WHERE STORIES ARE WOVEN
Chapter III – Voices
WHERE STORIES ARE SPOKEN
Chapter IV – Legacy
WHERE STORIES BECOME A TAPESTRY

Students explore their family roots by tracing migration journeys, traditions, and shared memories. Through conversations with parents and grandparents, they begin discovering the earliest threads of their family story.
Every family has a story.
Where does yours begin?
Highlight 1
Mapping Our Origins
Students mark the geographic origins of their families, trace migration journeys across generations, and identify the cities or regions connected to their heritage.
Families are encouraged to explore their ancestrial journeys and how their stories led to the present.

Family Portrait Project
Approximately 30 families are invited to participate in a complimentary professional portrait session.
These portraits later form part of the Family Tapestry Exhibition.
Every story can inspire.
What will yours become?
Students transform family memories into written stories and letters. This chapter focuses on reflection, expression, and the power of storytelling.
Highlight 4
Family Letter Writing Competition
Students from all Qs School campuses will participate in a Family Letter Writing Competition.
Students will explore themes such as gratitude, family values, cultural identity, responsibility, and belonging.
At least one prompt will require students to write in letter format, encouraging them to write to their parents and grandparents, their younger selves, or future generations.
This chapter emphasises the power of writing to preserve memory and meaning.

In-depth Family Interviews
Selected families are invited to participate in interviews where family memories are documented, important life decisions are explored, and generational experiences are recorded.
Based on these conversations, a Family Letters are created to capture the essence of each family’s story. These stories become part of the Qs collection of family letters.

Celebrate your heritage.
The story continues with you.
Every family story begins somewhere.
Highlight 9
Family Tapestry Exhibition
The Qs School community is invited to a two-week exhibition showcasing the outcomes of the program.
The exhibition features family portraits, student writing and artwork, historical photographs and meaningful objects, and selected family interviews and videos.
In the final chapter, the stories collected throughout the year come together in a public celebration of family heritage and identity.
Qs Family Tapestry invites students to discover those beginnings, honour the journeys that came before them, and recognise that they too are now part of the story.
