A Night of Reflection and Gratitude
The 2025 Qs Teachers’ Gathering opened with a moment of quiet beauty. As tutor Julie performed Blue and White Porcelain on the guzheng, the gentle melody set the tone for an evening of reflection, gratitude, and connection. This long-awaited year-end celebration unfolded with warmth and intention—made possible through the thoughtful planning and collective dedication of every member of the Qs team.
A Cultural Journey of Six Experiences
The event featured six immersive cultural experience stations:
Song brocade pearl fan crafting
Baduanjin wellness practice
Vegetarian dessert making
Traditional tea ceremony
Floral arrangement
Handcrafted coffee workshop
Interwoven with three rounds of lucky draws and a vegetarian tasting session, the evening became a relaxed yet meaningful cultural journey—filled with laughter, shared moments, and genuine connection.
More than a celebration, the gathering was a heartfelt thank-you to educators for a year of commitment and care. It was also a gentle reminder of the “sweetness within effort”—the quiet joy of teaching, learning, and growing together. Through photos and memories, Qs captured smiles that will linger long after the evening ended.
Principals’ Address | The “Tree of Life”
This year’s theme centred on the Tree of Life—a powerful metaphor for education. As the saying goes, “Ten years to grow a tree, a hundred years to nurture a person.” Education begins with a seed planted long before our time.
Deeply rooted in 5,000 years of Chinese culture and nourished under Australia’s blue skies, Qs continues to grow with love at its core—roots reaching deeper, branches extending wider, and values spreading outward with the belief of “nurturing people through love.”
Principal Yan Chen
Ms Yan Chen reflected on Qs’ mission, values, and sustainable growth. Over the past year, initiatives such as reading clubs, parent seminars, a new EQ curriculum, and a year-long ESG program have eased family pressures and earned sincere respect from students and parents alike.
At Qs, sustainability extends beyond the environment to physical and emotional wellbeing. For many years, plant-based catering has been a consistent choice at school events—reflecting a commitment to responsible living. Despite challenges and misunderstandings, shared belief and teamwork continue to guide Qs forward with quiet strength and purpose.
Principal Kevin Guo
Building on the Tree of Life theme, Principal Kevin Guo highlighted the irreplaceable value of educators. At Qs, education goes beyond academics—it nurtures emotional and spiritual growth.
Teachers, like roots and soil, provide stability and safety. Students grow upward and outward, supported by that foundation. In an era of rapid AI development, technology cannot replace empathy, connection, or care. True education awakens the heart and soul—and teachers remain at the centre of that magic.
Vegetarian Tasting Experience
For the fifth consecutive year, the Qs Teachers’ Gathering continued its tradition of plant-based dining, led by Ms Yan Chen. This choice reflects not only health awareness but also a long-term commitment to sustainability.
We were honoured to welcome Shu Restaurant, a 100% plant-based Chinese kitchen in Melbourne, who curated a refined three-course dining experience—from appetisers to mains and dessert. Each dish was carefully crafted to delight both the palate and the eye. Shu Restaurant is known for its modern take on Sichuan-inspired cuisine, blending bold traditional flavours with fresh plant-based ingredients—bringing a truly memorable culinary highlight to the evening.
Chinese Cultural Experiences
The evening was enriched with various cultural experiences. Each station offered a unique glimpse into the beauty of Chinese traditions. Participants engaged in crafting, wellness practices, and culinary delights, fostering a deeper appreciation for the culture.
These experiences created a vibrant atmosphere. They encouraged connection and understanding among attendees, making the gathering even more special.
Online Quiz Challenge
To add an element of fun, the Qs Quiz Challenge tested teachers’ knowledge of Qs history and culture. With limited time and fast-paced questions, only three teachers emerged victorious. Congratulations to our well-deserved winners!

Four rounds of lucky draws brought the atmosphere to its peak, filled with excitement and celebration. Prizes included:
